Hairdressers

Recently I received an email from the media company, Local Stars, about my application to join their team of videographers giving me more information on it is they would require from me. After reading up on them and on all the infomation they sent me, I told them I was still interested and was accepted onto their team of videographers. I was send a list of different industries to begin filming stock footage for them. The first category I chose was hairdressers and soon had access to The Beehive Salon in Milton Keynes to begin filming. Check them out - https://www.facebook.com/TheBeehiveMK

I arrived and began to film shots which did not show much of the invidiual salon so it could be used by other hairdressers wishing to promote themselves through Local Stars. This involved many close ups of hair being snipped and things like that! Whilst doing this, I realised I seem to have a habit of 'overshooting.' By this, I mean I was filming FAR too much footage than what I actually needed. The final clip only needed to be 25 seconds so I started only filming what I thought I would need, plus a bit extra, you know, just in case!

The footage turned out to be just the right amount and made for an easy edit. I recieved the music off dropbox and it is now ready to be sent.

Concrete RoseĀ

My friend is in a band called Concrete Rose and they were asked to perform at Trafalgar Square for London Gay Pride 2013. They wanted a backstage video so I went along to film them. When we arrived we were given backstage passes and I followed the band into the backstage area where they started to rehearse. I wanted the video to be kind of 'fly on the wall' style to show what goes on backstage, but then I thought it would be good to have some interaction with the camera also, therefore I was not sure what style to go for so thought I would film enough to do both and see what one I think works best in the edit. I filmed them rehersing, talking, eating, getting their make up done and just generally preparing! I then went out to in front of the stage with all the photographers and plonked my tripod and camera in a good position for the performance. It was slightly delayed so I took some shots of the crowd and lights etc for pick up shots. Concrete Rose then came and performed three songs. It was a very fun day and they looked very good on my camera. A few screen shots are below along with the final video.
